DriveForce Inc. | Pickering, ON
Full-Time, Permanent
$48,000–$56,000 per year + Full Benefits

Company Overview

DriveForce Vehicle & Equipment Services is a dynamic, independently owned fleet and commercial repair facility based in Pickering, Ontario. We serve a diverse range of clients across the Greater Toronto Area, specializing in truck and automotive repairs, fleet maintenance, diagnostics, and emissions systems.

Position

DriveForce is looking for an experienced, organized and proactive Shop Operations Supervisor to help lead the day-to-day operations of our busy automotive and heavy-duty repair facility in Pickering.

We service light-duty, medium-duty and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, and we need someone who understands the automotive repair industry and can confidently keep technicians, work orders, parts and shop operations organized and moving.

This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for daily shop workflow and staff coordination. We are looking for a true go-getter—someone who takes initiative, pays attention to the fine details, thinks quickly on their feet and follows things through to completion.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Coordinate daily shop workflow and technician priorities
  • Manage work orders from intake through completion
  • Monitor jobs in progress and follow up with technicians on outstanding work
  • Source and order parts for light-duty, medium-duty and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, deliveries and backorders
  • Ensure technicians have the parts and information needed to complete jobs efficiently
  • Maintain accurate work orders, repair notes and parts information
  • Assist with customer communication, repair approvals and updates as required
  • Manage and organize parts and shop inventory
  • Receive and track incoming parts
  • Maintain organization throughout the office, parts areas and shop
  • Follow up on outstanding parts, work orders and incomplete tasks
  • Identify workflow issues and take initiative to resolve them
  • Provide direction to shop staff and follow up on assigned priorities
  • Help ensure company procedures and shop standards are being followed
  • Work closely with ownership and management to improve efficiency and daily operations

What We're Looking For

Automotive industry experience is required.

  • 4+ years of experience in the automotive, truck, equipment or vehicle service industry
  • Experience in service advising, parts, shop operations, fleet maintenance, automotive repair, heavy-duty repair or a related role
  • Strong understanding of vehicle parts, repair terminology and repair-shop workflow
  • Experience sourcing and ordering automotive or heavy-duty parts
  • Heavy-duty truck and/or equipment experience is strongly preferred
  • Previous experience as an automotive or heavy-duty technician is a strong asset
  • Supervisory or team-lead experience is an asset
  • Strong computer and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to confidently prioritize and manage multiple jobs at once

Who Will Succeed Here?

We're looking for someone who is:

  • A self-starter and go-getter
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Quick on their feet
  • Proactive rather than reactive
  • Confident providing direction and following up with staff
  • Able to recognize what needs to be done without constantly being told
  • Comfortable taking ownership of problems and finding solutions
  • Able to adapt quickly when shop priorities change
  • Comfortable working between the office, parts area and shop floor
  • Focused on keeping work moving and preventing things from falling through the cracks

This is not a desk-only position. You will be actively involved in the daily operation of the shop and will need to be comfortable working closely with technicians, suppliers, customers and management.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $48,000–$56,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications
  • Full benefits package
  • Full-time, permanent position
  • Opportunity for growth and increased responsibility
  • Diverse work environment covering automotive, truck, fleet and equipment repair

If you're someone who enjoys taking ownership, staying busy, solving problems and keeping a shop organized and productive, we'd like to hear from you.

Pay: $48,000.00-$56,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Dental care
  • Extended health care
  • Mileage reimbursement
  • Paid time off
  • Vision care
