Shop Supervisor

Job Overview
Life Style Express is a busy and trusted convenience store serving the local Birmingham community. We provide a wide range of Asian and Caribbean groceries, fresh food, frozen products, household items, and essential services such as Payzone, PayPoint, parcel drop-off and collection (DHL, UPS, DPD, Royal Mail, Yodel, InPost), and an on-site ATM. The store is a key retail hub in the area with strong daily customer flow and no similar shop nearby.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations to ensure all store activities run smoothly.
• Assign daily duties to shop staff such as shelf filling, cleaning, parcel handling, and till operation.
• Ensure all staff follow company procedures, customer service standards, and store policies at all times.
• Oversee stock rotation, check deliveries, and report any shortages, damages, or supplier-related issues.
• Maintain high standards of store presentation, ensuring shelves, fridges, and displays are fully stocked and clean at all times.
• Handle and resolve customer complaints professionally, ensuring prompt resolution of issues.
• Monitor daily sales performance and highlight slow-moving or high-demand products to management.

Skills

• Previous experience in retail or convenience store environment preferred
• Experience in supervising or leading a small team is an advantage
• Good communication skills in English, with the ability to speak and understand Urdu and Hindi to assist a diverse customer base
• Basic understanding of cash handling and till systems
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment

Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
