Shop Supervisor

About the role

A non-pork outlet in Sunway Square Mall is seeking a Shop Supervisor to join our team in Bandar Sunway, Selangor. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our bar and beverage establishment. As Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of service, managing staff performance, and creating an exceptional experience for our customers. This position is central to our operational success and directly contributes to the overall performance and reputation of our venue.

What you'll be doing

• Overseeing daily operations of the bar and beverage service, ensuring all staff adhere to company policies and procedures
• Managing staff scheduling, assignments, and performance to ensure adequate coverage during all service periods
• Training and mentoring bar and beverage staff on product knowledge, customer service standards, and operational procedures
• Monitoring inventory levels of beverages, glassware, and supplies, and coordinating with management on ordering requirements
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, storage facilities, and customer spaces in accordance with health and safety regulations
• Handling customer enquiries and resolving any issues or complaints professionally and promptly
• Ensuring compliance with licensing regulations, age verification procedures, and responsible service of alcohol practices
• Assisting in the preparation and execution of promotional events and special occasions
• Maintaining detailed records of sales, cash handling, and stock management
• Reporting to management on operational matters, staff performance, and areas for improvement

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working in a bar, beverage service, or hospitality environment, preferably in a supervisory or team lead capacity
• Strong knowledge of beverages, including spirits, wines, beers, and cocktails
• Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
• Outstanding customer service and interpersonal abilities with the capacity to remain calm under pressure
• Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software
• Sound understanding of health, safety, and food hygiene regulations relevant to the hospitality industry
• Strong organisational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
• Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of Malay and Mandarin is advantageous
• TIPS (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) certification or equivalent responsible alcohol service training is preferred
