Shop Technician

Duties

• Perform detailed diagnostics on heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, tractors, and other construction machinery using schematics, electrical diagnostics tools, and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems to ensure optimal functionality.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to execute repairs accurately and efficiently.
• Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts and other industrial equipment safely during maintenance or testing procedures.
• Inspect and service OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts and farm machinery to meet manufacturer specifications.
• Complete detailed service reports, maintenance logs, and diagnostic documentation to track work performed and parts used.
• Assist with assembly, disassembly, and calibration of construction equipment to meet safety standards and operational requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as a mechanic or service technician in a dealership or heavy equipment environment.
• Strong knowledge of construction machinery maintenance, electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, and equipment troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, heavy lifting, tire service, and heavy equipment operation is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with schematics for electrical systems and hydraulic diagrams; ability to interpret technical manuals.
• Proficiency with vehicle maintenance including brake repair, alignment services, HVAC systems, diesel engine repair, transmissions, air brake systems, suspension components, and powertrain diagnostics.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic software, and welding equipment effectively.
• Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with strong problem-solving skills; detail-oriented with a focus on safety standards.
• Customer service mindset with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
