ABOUT THE ROLE

We're hiring a Dry Chem Shop Technician to service and hydro-test low pressure portable fire extinguishers, back up our customer counter, and keep our parts, supplies, and dry chemical room in order. This is a Monday through Friday day shift position.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Complete the servicing and hydro-testing of low pressure portable fire extinguishers to meet scheduled delivery deadlines
• Serve as back-up for walk-in business at the customer counter, including greeting customers, getting information needed to perform service, writing invoices, and accepting payment
• Maintain inventory of fire extinguisher parts and supplies
• Maintain cleanliness of parts and the dry chemical room daily
• Calibrate the hydro-tester daily per D.O.T. regulations
• Take on other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Education generally equivalent to four years of high school
• Fire Equipment Distributor Employee license, or willingness to obtain one
• Basic math skills and the ability to bend, stand, and lift up to 65 lbs.
• Honest, reliable, and self-motivated, with good verbal and written communication and organization skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, D.O.T. CFR49, CGA C-1 and C-6.3 pamphlets, and NFPA-10 regulations and guidelines pertaining to low pressure cylinders
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug test, and background check

SCHEDULE & TRAINING

This is a full-time, Monday through Friday day shift. Training is provided on all equipment, and compensation will be commensurate with your experience.
