Hoekstra Equipment Shop Technician

Hoekstra Equipment is seeking a motivated, dependable Shop Technician to join our team. This full-time position is responsible for installing, repairing, and servicing a wide range of commercial truck and van equipment. Essential Functions include but not limited to:

• Install service bodies, flatbeds, dump bodies, and other truck equipment.
• Install and service snowplows, salt spreaders, and ice control equipment.
• Install hitches, liftgates, ladder racks, shelving systems, toolboxes, toppers, and other commercial accessories.
• Install electrical components, including strobe lights, warning lights, and auxiliary equipment.
• Perform repairs, modifications, and maintenance on truck and van equipment.
• Read work orders and installation instructions to ensure quality workmanship.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and customer expectations.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

• Effective communication, time management, organizational skills.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools.
• Welding, electrical, or hydraulic experience is a plus, but willing to train the right candidate.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and positive attitude.
• Customer service and team focused.
• Pass criminal background check and drug screen.

• Requires ability to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend or twist.
• Requires ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a shop environment.
• Work performed mostly inside but do have to go outside at time with possible exposure to extreme weather.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Compensation and Base salary rate adequate with experience.
