Shop Technician

Heat Wagon, a leader in temporary heating is seeking a skilled Shop Technician to join our Tech Service team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical repair, mechanical knowledge, and strong trouble shooting skills. Heat Wagon manufactures, assemblies, and distributes portable & temporary heating/cooling equipment. This is primarily an on-site role with some on location-site repair, delivery, and telephone / email troubleshooting needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on a variety of Heaters (natural gas, propane, fuel oil, and electric).

• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with electronic/mechanical systems.

• Maintain and repair company machinery/vehicles, forklifts, and other equipment as needed.

• Utilize voltmeter, manometer, thermocouples, anemometers, and combustion gas analyzer to test and repair heaters and equipment.

• Building and grounds maintenance.

• Inventory audits.

Skills

• HVAC knowledge/background.

• Proficient in electronic/mechanical systems maintenance and repair. Single and three phase 480V circuits.

• Strong electronic/mechanical aptitude with proficiency in troubleshooting.

• Previous work as technician is preferred.

• Knowledge of forklift operations and maintenance.

• Familiarity with machinery repairs.

• Soldering skills for electrical repairs.

• Hand tools, grinders, saws, and impacts.

• Interpret electrical schematics.

• Perform Preventive/Predictive Maintenance (Mechanical and Electrical) as assigned

Qualifications

• Team player with desire to succeed and contribute to continuous improvement.

• Strong analytical skills are a must. Must have proven problem-solving skills.

• Able to work professionally and effectively with all personnel in the plant.

• Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
