Shopify Developer

Location: Bali, Indonesia | Full-time | On-site

About the Role

We are looking for a Shopify Developer to join our team and take ownership of the technical performance and optimisation of our Shopify e-commerce website.

You will focus on improving website speed, stability, responsiveness, user experience, and technical efficiency while supporting ongoing e-commerce initiatives.

This role is ideal for a developer who enjoys analysing performance issues, improving existing code, and finding practical technical solutions that create a faster and better online shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties include, but are not limited to:

• Monitor, analyse, and improve Shopify website performance, loading speed, and Core Web Vitals.
• Optimise Shopify themes, Liquid code, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images, scripts, and other website assets.
• Refactor and optimise existing theme code to improve performance, maintainability, and scalability.
• Identify and resolve technical issues affecting website speed, responsiveness, usability, cart, and checkout experience.
• Develop and customise Shopify themes, including custom sections, components, and metafield logic using Liquid.
• Review and optimise Shopify apps, third-party scripts, and integrations to reduce conflicts and unnecessary script usage.
• Implement, test, and monitor technical improvements that support conversion rate and customer experience.
• Integrate and maintain third-party services and APIs, including payment, shipping, analytics, and other e-commerce tools.
• Conduct regular performance audits using tools such as Google PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse, and Shopify performance reports.
• Work closely with the e-commerce and marketing teams to support website updates, campaigns, promotions, and technical implementations.
• Maintain clean, well-structured, and documented code following development best practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience in Shopify development and website performance optimisation.
• Strong knowledge of Shopify themes and Liquid.
• Good working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Practical experience improving website speed and Core Web Vitals.
• Experience with responsive and mobile-first web development.
• Experience troubleshooting Shopify themes, apps, scripts, and third-party integrations.
• Understanding of APIs and external service integrations.
• Experience using performance and auditing tools such as Google PageSpeed Insights and Lighthouse.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Good English communication skills.
• Willing to work full-time on-site in Bali.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Shopify Plus.
• Experience with conversion rate optimisation (CRO).
• Understanding of technical SEO.
• Experience with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or similar analytics tools.
• Experience working with payment, shipping, CRM, or marketing integrations.
• Previous experience with beauty, fashion, retail, or consumer e-commerce brands.
