Short Form Video Editor

KICK&CO is looking for a skilled Short Form Video Editor who can turn long-form videos, podcasts, and raw footage into engaging, high-retention content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.

You will be responsible for identifying the strongest moments, building compelling hooks, and editing content that captures attention and keeps viewers watching.

What You’ll Do

• Turn long-form videos, podcasts, and raw footage into engaging short-form content
• Identify strong clips, stories, insights, and moments that can perform well as short-form content
• Create attention-grabbing hooks within the first 1–3 seconds
• Edit for strong pacing, retention, and watch time
• Add captions, text animations, B-roll, sound effects, zooms, and other visual elements where appropriate
• Adapt edits for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts
• Follow established content and editing guidelines while bringing your own creative ideas
• Create multiple variations of hooks, openings, or edits when needed
• Consistently deliver polished content on schedule

What We’re Looking For

• Strong understanding of short-form content, storytelling, and audience retention
• Proven experience editing Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts, or similar content
• Ability to create strong hooks that immediately capture attention
• Strong sense of pacing, timing, and visual storytelling
• Proficiency in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar editing software
• Experience with captions, motion graphics, B-roll, sound design, and visual effects
• Creative, fast, and detail-oriented
• Ability to take feedback and make revisions quickly
• Strong understanding of what makes content engaging on social platforms

You Should Have

• A portfolio or showreel demonstrating your short-form editing ability
• Examples of content edited for Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube Shorts
• Experience creating retention-focused edits
• The ability to turn ordinary footage into content that feels engaging and native to the platform
