Short Order Cook

Job Summary

The Breakfast Club Omaha is looking for a reliable and skilled Short Order Cook to join its breakfast-focused kitchen team. This position prepares made-to-order breakfast and brunch items while maintaining speed, consistency, food quality, and a clean workstation during busy morning service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare eggs, breakfast meats, sandwiches, pancakes, and other menu items to order.
• Follow recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Operate grills, griddles, fryers, and other kitchen equipment safely.
• Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to complete orders accurately and on time.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked cooking station.
• Monitor food quality, temperatures, and freshness throughout the shift.
• Assist with prep work, ingredient rotation, and kitchen setup.
• Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and restaurant procedures.
• Help with opening and closing kitchen duties as assigned.
• Maintain consistent performance during high-volume breakfast and brunch periods.

Qualifications

• Previous short-order, breakfast, line cook, or restaurant kitchen experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of cooking methods and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to work quickly while maintaining accuracy and food quality.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift or move kitchen supplies when needed.
• Food-handler certification is a plus.
• Availability for early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

About The Company

The Breakfast Club Omaha is a breakfast and brunch restaurant located in Aksarben Village at 2121 South 67th Street. The restaurant serves breakfast and brunch daily, with operating hours generally running from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 per week
