Short order line cook

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled and experienced short order line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in meal preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are cooked according to the recipe and our standards. This position requires a passion for food, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The cook will assist in maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.

Duties

• Prepare orders per recipes within a reasonable time frame
• Present food in an appealing manner
• Prepare and chop ingredients according to recipes and specifications.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives, mixers, ovens, and fryers.
• Collaborate with kitchen manager and other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation for catering events or restaurant service.
• Follow food handling guidelines to ensure safety and quality standards are met.

Experience

• Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in a restaurant short order cooking or catering environment, is preferred. (Does not include working fast food such as McDonalds/Burger King/etc.
• Familiarity with culinary techniques, food handling practices, and kitchen equipment operation.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
• A passion for and a desire to learn more about meal preparation and menu planning.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.53 - $19.66 per hour
