The role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to join our Christchurch Showroom team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth execution of projects, maintaining strong client relationships, and supporting the sales and delivery process from start to finish. The days and hours are Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week with a rostered Saturday (advanced notice - maximum once per month).

Key responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit tenders and quotes in a timely manner, supporting the sales team in winning new business.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with both existing and new clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
• Monitor and manage pricing strategies to maintain healthy profit margins across all projects.
• Review and approve support work before it is released to clients, ensuring quality and accuracy.
• Coordinate the ordering and timely delivery of materials and products, liaising with suppliers and logistics partners.
• Constantly communicate with customers and suppliers about orders, and lead times either verbally or via email
• Supporting the showroom during the weekends, and busy periods

About you

This role will suit a candidate who has previous experience in the building industry, loves interacting with clients, and thrives in a fast-paced, high pressure environment! We're looking for the following skills and experience:

• Previous experience working in a similar role for a building merchant, building, plumbing company, or other related industry
• Experience in project coordination and working with quantity schedules and pricing
• Strong computer skills are essential, including experience working with the MS Suite
• Reliable, sensible, and self-motivated, as this role rapidly shifts in terms of the workload, responsibilities, and tasks
• An excellent verbal and written communicator who understands customer response times and the need to be proactive
• Outstanding time management skills, with the ability to juggle your responsibility to follow up quotes, orders, and sales enquiries in a timely manner
• A team player, who supports work mates and has a growth mindset
• Have a passion for sales, supporting the sales team to achieve budgets
• Bring natural business acumen to the role, working to achieve the best buying and selling results for overall business success
