We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shredder Operator to join our production team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating shredding and chipping equipment to process recyclable materials efficiently and safely. Duties

• Operate shredding machinery, including heavy-duty shredders, to process recyclable materials and waste streams effectively.
• Manage material handling equipment such as loaders, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and garbage trucks to transport materials safely across the facility.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure mechanical functionality and safety compliance; perform basic maintenance as needed.
• Follow strict safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to prevent accidents during outdoor work and heavy equipment operation.
• Handle recyclable materials responsibly, adhering to hazardous materials regulations and environmental compliance standards.
• Assist with landfill management tasks, ensuring proper disposal procedures for solid waste and recyclable materials.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas by performing regular cleaning duties and ensuring safe material storage practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating heavy machinery such as shredders, excavators, loaders, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and garbage trucks.
• Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues quickly.
• Knowledge of solid waste management, recycling processes, landfill operations, and environmental regulations.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation, sanitation, hazardous materials handling, and outdoor work environments.
• Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks consistently.
• Prior experience working outdoors in a manufacturing or waste management setting is preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety protocol adherence at all times.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
