Shunter - Days

Are you a Class 1 Shunter Driver looking for a role with the security of guaranteed full-time hours ?

Here at GXO, we are looking for a Class 1 Shunter to join our team in Northfleet supporting our customer, Arbex . This is a permanent role, and you will be working 42 hours per week on a 4on,4off shift pattern . Shifts available 06:00-18:00 Pay, benefits and more:

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• To ensure the TUG unit is safe to operate and monitor H&S of the transport area, report any non-conformances including VOR trailers
• Effectively manage trailers on and off the bays, both at the RDC and over the mill in line with operational requirements.
• Support all external hauliers for collections / deliveries and any internal movements between site locations.
• Complete all transport area checks in an accurate and timely manner utilising systems and methods as supplied.
• Monitor the usage and allocation of stand trailers.
• Prepare trailers for loading including laying out of straps and pulling curtains.
• Carry out any other duties as required in line with the role.

What you need to succeed:

• You must hold a valid Class 1 licence with a minimum of 3 years experience
• Have a valid Driver Qualification Card (CPC)
• Less than 6 penalty points on licence (No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements with a conviction date within the previous 5 years
• Shunter Experience preferred
• Must be able to complete manual handling tasks
• Good communication skills
