Hotel Shuttle Driver

Position Summary

The Hotel Shuttle Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, courteous, and timely transportation for hotel guests, primarily between the hotel and San Antonio International Airport (SAT). This position plays an important role in creating a positive guest experience by providing professional service, assisting with luggage, maintaining the hotel shuttle, and ensuring guests arrive at their destinations safely and on time.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Safely transport hotel guests to and from San Antonio International Airport and the hotel.
• Respond promptly to scheduled and on-demand guest transportation requests.
• Greet guests in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner.
• Assist guests with loading and unloading luggage and personal belongings.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and hotel transportation procedures.
• Maintain communication with the Front Desk regarding airport pickups, drop-offs, guest requests, delays, and shuttle availability.
• Ensure guests are dropped off at the appropriate airline terminal and pickup location.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable shuttle vehicle, including the passenger and luggage areas.
• Perform basic pre-shift vehicle inspections, including checking fuel level, tires, lights, cleanliness, and overall vehicle condition.
• Immediately report vehicle damage, mechanical concerns, accidents, or safety issues to hotel management.
• Maintain accurate shuttle logs, mileage records, fuel records, and other required transportation documentation.
• Refuel the shuttle as needed and ensure it is ready for the next scheduled trip.
• Provide guests with basic information about the hotel, airport, and surrounding area when requested.
• Maintain guest confidentiality and demonstrate professional behavior at all times.
• Assist the Front Desk or other hotel departments with reasonable duties during periods when shuttle transportation is not required.
• Follow all hotel policies, procedures, safety standards, and guest service expectations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by hotel management.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
• Must meet the hotel's and insurance provider's requirements for operating a company vehicle.
• Previous professional driving, hotel, customer service, or hospitality experience preferred.
• Knowledge of San Antonio International Airport terminals, pickup/drop-off areas, and surrounding roadways preferred.
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with guests and hotel team members.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during traffic delays, schedule changes, or other unexpected situations.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on hotel needs.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently enter and exit the shuttle vehicle.
• Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and assist with guest luggage.
• Ability to lift and handle luggage weighing approximately 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to perform duties indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Guest Service Expectations

The Shuttle Driver represents the hotel from the moment a guest is picked up at the airport until they arrive at the property. The driver is expected to provide a warm welcome, professional service, safe transportation, and a positive first and last impression of the hotel.
