What they need
As a Signal Test Engineer, you will be a core member of a specialized technology pillar (such as High/Low-Speed interfaces, Power Integrity, or Clocking) under our new domain-based specialization model. You will be responsible for executing rigorous hardware validation tests, generating high-quality test data, and collaborating directly with R&D teams to identify and debug hardware anomalies on networking switch, server, storage, and communication platforms.
Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Test Execution: Complete assigned SI/PI test items strictly on time, adhering to the approved validation plan.
- R&D Collaboration & Debugging: Inform the R&D team immediately of any electrical or signal issues encountered during testing. Actively assist in debugging, failure analysis, and troubleshooting until resolution.
- Standardization Compliance: Strictly follow "Master Technical Templates" and standard operating procedures (SOPs) maintained by the Domain Champions to ensure test consistency.
- Reporting & Documentation: Draft initial pillar-specific test plans, capture highly accurate test data, and prepare complete test packages for project-level review.
- Process Optimization: Help examine and refine testing procedures to shorten testing times and broaden overall test coverage in the lab.
- Equipment Operations: Set up and operate measuring instruments (e.g., oscilloscopes, waveform generators, multimeters, and network analyzers) to conduct standard bus validation.
- Automation Utilization: Utilize existing scripting frameworks (e.g., Python/SCPI) to run automated test routines.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:
- Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience: 0 to 3 years of experience in hardware board-level testing. (Fresh graduates with relevant internship or academic project experience are highly encouraged).
- Technical Knowledge (Preferred): Understanding of networking switch/server/storage structure concepts and hardware design fundamentals.
- Familiarity with Standards: Basic exposure to signal integrity theory and key bus standards (e.g., PCIe, DDR, USB, SATA, LAN, I2C/SPI).
- Instrument Competency: Good understanding of the principles and operations of basic measuring instruments (oscilloscopes and probes).
- Work Management: Ability to handle multiple testing tasks, work under tight project timelines, and maintain a strong team-player mindset.
- Scripting (Preferred): Basic knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for test automation is highly desirable.
