SIL Support Worker – Flexible Work

Are you a compassionate, reliable, and person-centred Support Worker looking for flexible and meaningful work?

We are looking for experienced SIL (Supported Independent Living) Support Workers across Australia to support NDIS participants living in supported accommodation and shared living environments.

As an independent contractor, you can choose your availability and shifts while providing high-quality, person-centred support that helps participants live as independently and confidently as possible.

What the role involves

• Providing person-centred support to NDIS participants in SIL homes
• Supporting participants with personal care and daily living activities
• Assisting with showering, dressing, grooming and hygiene
• Supporting meal preparation, cooking and household tasks
• Supporting medication routines in accordance with the participant's care plan and relevant requirements
• Assisting with mobility, transfers and positioning where required
• Supporting participants to access the community and attend appointments
• Encouraging independence, choice and decision-making
• Supporting social, recreational and community activities
• Following individualised support plans, care plans and participant goals
• Monitoring and reporting changes in a participant's health, wellbeing or behaviour
• Completing progress notes and other required documentation
• Supporting positive behaviour strategies and following behaviour support plans where applicable
• Maintaining a safe, clean and respectful living environment
• Working collaboratively with families, coordinators, nurses and other support professionals
• Providing overnight, active night or sleepover support where required

Requirements

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or a relevant qualification is desirable
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Police Check (within 3 years)
• NDIS Worker Screening Check, where required
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module
• Infection Control Training
• ABN or willingness to obtain one
• Right to work in Australia
