JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Silicon Photonics Applications Engineer to bridge photonic hardware with electronic systems, ensuring seamless integration of optical interconnects into large-scale computing platforms. This role combines technical depth with cross-functional collaboration.

This role necessitates a hands-on approach in defining customer applications and system level requirements which involves collaboration across different sites to ensure the delivery of high-performance analog products. The successful candidate will work alongside world‑class engineers across multiple sites and engage directly with customers to drive products from concept through production.

Responsibilities include

• Define system‑level requirements and application use cases for silicon photonics interconnects.
• Work with design, packaging, and reliability teams to ensure manufacturability and scalability
• Support customers design-ins, debug technical issues, and drive successful production ramps
• Develop application test plans and validate optical links in prototype and production systems
• Generate high‑quality technical collateral including datasheets, application notes, and customer test reports
• Collaborate closely with customers and ecosystem partners to align solutions with real‑world deployment needs
• Represent the company at technical trade shows, delivering live demos, product training, and promotional activities

Minimum Qualification:

• Bachelor’s or Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
• Minimum 5+ years experience as an applications engineer in optical communications or related industries
• Solid understanding of silicon photonics design, packaging, signal integrity, and reliability methodologies
• Proficient with the use of lab equipment to test high speed silicon photonics PIC and mixed-signal circuits
• Strong background in Silicon Photonics system architecture and familiarity with key industry standards and applications (e.g., CPO, NPO, XPO, FRO, LPO, LRO)
• Direct experience supporting optical module or system‑level customers across Asia and the USA
• Strong proficiency in Mandarin/Chinese and professional-level English communication (written and spoken) to support cross regional teams and customers
