The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is currently looking for a full-time Simulator Instructor Pilot, GS-2181-13 located at the 479th Student Squadron at Tyndall AFB, Panama City, FL.

Salary Range: $106,000 – 138,000

Recruitment Incentive: 50% annual salary pay bonus (year to year based on eligibility)

In this role, you will provide aircraft simulator and academic courses following the prescribed syllabus for the graduate fighter pilot flying training program. Instruct students in the full range of fighter aircraft maneuvers or capabilities necessary to meet the needs of an operational unit’s mission. Develop goals, monitor and evaluate training program success, and provide technical expertise to program changes.

Minimum Flight Hour Requirements (Flight Logs Are Mandatory)

• 1500 Total Flight Hours
• 250 Pilot-In-Command Hours
• 75 Night Flying Hours
• 75 flight hours of Instrument Time (at least 10 hours must be in actual instrument conditions)

Mandatory Documents

• Flight Logs
• FAA Certifications (one of the following):
• Fixed wing with Instrument rating
• Certificated flight instructor
• Military instructor pilot rating
• DD 214 (Member 4)

Qualifications

• Must be a US Civilian
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance
• This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position
• Prerequisite: Must be an experienced 4th or 5th generation fighter pilot
• This is designated Mission Essential
• Knowledge of aircraft systems and operating procedures, advanced instrument techniques, aerobatic maneuvers, close formation flying, high-speed low-level flight, aerial refueling, aggressor and defensive combat, and range missions with ordnance
• Knowledge of high performance fighter aircraft and the operation, characteristics, and limitations of the corresponding aircraft simulator
• Knowledge of curriculum development, instructional techniques, and training resources
• Knowledge of the Instructional Systems Development (ISD) process, fighter pilot training requirements, and pilot training syllabus
• Skill in using a variety of computer applications and simulator systems to meet learning objectives
• Skill in demonstrating flying procedures and maneuvers in an aircraft simulator
