The Role

As a Greenlight Sim Center Staffer you will be staffing our simulator training center and working directly with our clients as they progress through our curriculum. Don’t worry, we aren’t looking for professional driving instructors. A desire to deliver killer customer service, and a willingness to learn new skills are the most important qualifications for this position. We will teach you what you need to know to be able to succeed and create a great experience for our clients. That said, this position is part coach, part system operator, part customer service. You’ll be operating our driving simulators to run trainees through their driving sessions, providing students with foundational coaching and constructive feedback as they progress through each session, and assist with any customer service needs like scheduling and general questions.

Many of our teen clients come in with anxiety about driving and we work hard to help them relax and gain the confidence they’ll need to succeed behind the wheel. We love to hire students! (Community College, Trade Programs, etc.) We're open when school's closed so we provide a great opportunity to work while studying. If you're currently going to school, we have flexible hours so we can help make it work.

Required Paid Training

Before you begin working directly with clients, we will give you the tools and knowledge you need to be successful via our paid training program. You’ll begin by taking our Simulator-Based Driver Training Sessions to understand the full customer experience, followed by in-depth training on how to operate the simulators, how coach students on their driving in accordance with our training curriculum, how to handle customer questions, and how to escalate customer support items as needed. This training program will be conducted over 3 days of 4-hour training sessions for a total of 12 hours of paid training.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
• Must pass a drug test, background check and LiveScan.
• Possess a valid California State Driver’s License and a Clean Driving Record.
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality. *We require a minimum of 24hrs notice if you cannot make an assigned shift. Unexpected illness and emergencies are an exception.
• Available to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends.
• Meet shop operating policies and standards, including providing a clean, welcoming environment and positive training experiences.
• Engage with and understand our customers, including discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication. You’ll likely need to adjust sessions based on the driver’s abilities and needs.
• Ability to greet and help any potential call-in or walk-in customers.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Comfort/fluency with operating Windows based PCs.
• Ability to learn quickly.
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions and request clarification when needed.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build relationships.

Work Location and Hours

This is an in-person position at Greenlight’s Simulator Training Center in Danville, CA. Due to our clients being primarily high school students our operating hours are aligned with the local school schedule. During the school year we operate on an “after school” schedule, and switch to holiday and summer hours as the school schedule requires.

After School Hours (August-May)

• M-F: 3:00pm – 7:00pm
• Sat & Sun: 11:00am – 6:00pm

Summer Hours (June-August)

• M-F: 11:00am – 6:00pm
• Sat & Sun: 11:00am – 6:00pm

Pay Range

$20.00 - $24.00 per hour
