Location: Lagos (Site-based)
Residence Requirement: Must live close to Yaba or within reasonable commuting distance

Work Schedule: Monday to Saturday, 8:00am – 6:00pm
Experience: Minimum 8 years (mid-rise construction)
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Building Technology or Civil Engineering (mandatory)

Role Summary

Cogent Properties is hiring an experienced Site Builder / Site Engineer to take ownership of on-site construction execution for mid-rise developments. This role operates within a structured, process-driven construction environment under active operational standardisation.

The Site Builder / Engineer is responsible not only for executing work on site, but for ensuring that construction activities are repeatable, documented, and predictable. This is a leadership role on site, not a presence-only position.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute and supervise daily construction activities in line with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements
• Coordinate site labour, trades, and subcontractors to meet planned outputs
• Ensure works are carried out in the correct sequence and to required quality standards
• Work closely with the Project Manager, consultants, and other site engineers to resolve site issues
• Confirm completed work using company-approved digital reporting tools and photo evidence
• Identify execution risks, quality issues, or delays early and escalate formally

Ownership & System Expectations

• Take full ownership of site execution quality, sequencing, and discipline
• Ensure all construction activities are recorded digitally with accurate quantities, photos, and timestamps
• Assist in refining site execution checklists, work sequences, and standard operating procedures
• Identify recurring errors, rework, or inefficiencies and contribute to process improvements
• Enforce site standards consistently across all trades and stages

Working Environment & Expectations

Cogent Properties operates a structured, process-driven environment.
Daily reporting and evidence submission are mandatory.
Unapproved improvisation or undocumented work is not acceptable.
Performance is evaluated based on documented output, quality, and consistency, not verbal updates.
If work is not recorded, it is treated as not done.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Building Technology or Civil Engineering (mandatory)
• Minimum 10 years post-graduation experience in mid-rise construction projects and a tier 2 construction company
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, site coordination, and quality control
• Proven ability to supervise trades and manage site activities effectively
• High level of discipline and accountability
• Comfortable working within structured, cloud-based reporting systems
