ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Site Construction Manager to lead the site execution of electrical infrastructure and power distribution upgrade projects within the Group’s contracting operations.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the role will manage site mobilisation, construction activities, resources, and approved subcontractors, ensuring safe execution, quality workmanship, efficient productivity, and timely completion.

The ideal candidate will have strong practical experience in MV/LV installations and power distribution construction, with the ability to lead site teams, coordinate SEWA inspections, control site costs, and support testing, commissioning, and handover.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead site construction activities in line with approved designs, method statements, specifications, and contractual requirements.
• Plan site mobilisation, access, logistics, construction sequencing, work fronts, and resource requirements.
• Coordinate with the engineering team to verify site conditions, identify existing services, and confirm readiness before construction begins.
• Lead site engineers, supervisors, foremen, and construction crews, assigning responsibilities and monitoring performance.
• Assess subcontractor site capability and manage approved subcontractors, specialist contractors, equipment, and resources within delegated authority.
• Supervise MV/LV installations, transformers, switchgear, distribution boards, cables, metering, earthing, and associated civil works.
• Coordinate technical queries and proposed design changes with the Engineering Lead.
• Manage daily work plans and short-term schedules, monitoring progress, productivity, material availability, and construction milestones.
• Resolve site constraints and implement recovery actions to maintain the approved construction programme.
• Control labour, plant, and material usage to reduce waste, rework, and avoidable costs.
• Maintain accurate progress records and site documentation to support forecasts, payment applications, variations, and claims.
• Enforce HSE requirements, permit controls, and approved isolation procedures in coordination with the QA/QC and HSE team.
• Coordinate high-risk activities, stop unsafe work, and ensure switching and energization are performed by appropriately authorised personnel.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, and quality records with QA/QC teams and approved specialists.
• Prepare the site for SEWA inspections, maintain applicable approval and permit records, and obtain required clearances before affected activities proceed.
• Close nonconformities and coordinate with clients, consultants, and relevant stakeholders to resolve site issues.
• Manage construction interfaces, access arrangements, and planned outages.
• Support commissioning, provide completion records and as-built inputs, close defects, and achieve accepted site handover.

TECHNICAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent relevant engineering qualification.
• More than 10 years of electrical infrastructure or power distribution construction experience in the UAE or GCC, with proven leadership of site teams and subcontractors.
• Practical experience in MV/LV installations, transformer and switchgear works, cable laying and termination, earthing, associated civil works, and commissioning support.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating SEWA site inspections and construction compliance.
• Valid individual SEWA approval or authorisation wherever required for the assigned duties, with verifiable scope and validity.
• Strong working knowledge of construction HSE, permit controls, isolation procedures, inspection and test plans, and quality nonconformity closure.
• Ability to interpret drawings, plan resources, manage subcontractors, and maintain accurate construction and progress records.
• UAE driving licence is preferred.

• Ability to manage site priorities and achieve construction milestones while maintaining safety and quality standards.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Arabic communication skills are an added advantage.
