The opportunity

INEOS Nitriles is seeking an experienced and influential Site Director to lead its operation in Lima, Ohio.

You will have overall responsibility for site performance, including safety, reliability, cost, quality, people, security and community relationships, while shaping the site’s long-term reliability and workforce capability.

The site operates within a highly interconnected industrial environment, with shared utilities and services across neighbouring businesses. The Site Director will play a key role in building effective partnerships across the site, enabling shared success while protecting INEOS’s business interests

As Site Director, you will:

• Provide visible leadership for the safe, secure, legally compliant and reliable operation of the Lima site.
• Champion the INEOS 20 Principles and ensure compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management requirements, applicable US laws and ISO standards.
• Maintain robust and preventative SHE processes, including auditing, incident investigation, corrective actions, emergency response and site security.
• Lead fixed and variable cost performance and present site budgets to senior Nitriles leadership.
• Develop and deliver the site’s short- and long-term capital portfolio, supporting asset integrity, reliability and long-term viability.
• Shape operating and maintenance strategies that strengthen operational performance.
• Lead, coach and develop the Site Leadership Team, building capability, engagement and succession across the wider workforce.
• Work closely with functional and operational leaders across the Nitriles business.
• Maintain constructive relationships with neighbouring businesses, regulators, elected officials, emergency services and community representatives.
• You will directly lead five employees and have overall leadership responsibility for a workforce of approximately 125 people.

What you will bring

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related discipline; an MBA would be advantageous.
• At least 15 years’ experience within refining or chemical plant operations.
• Broad exposure to world-scale continuous operations, maintenance, SHE, finance, procurement, logistics and infrastructure.
• Strong budgeting and cost-control capability.
• A sound understanding of federal and state requirements across safety, environmental and employment matters.
• Strong leadership, delegation and influencing skills.
• A clear commitment to excellent SHE performance.
• The ability to build teams, coach leaders and successfully drive change.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to develop relationships with senior business and community stakeholders.
