Site Engineer

About the role

Xsun Engineering Limited is seeking a skilled and dedicated Site Engineer to join our growing team based in Tuen Mun District. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the successful delivery of our civil and structural engineering projects. As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations, ensuring compliance with design specifications, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety on our construction sites. This position offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on significant infrastructure and construction projects whilst working alongside experienced professionals in the field.

What you'll be doing

• Site Supervision & Quality Control: Supervise daily site operations to ensure works comply with HyD (Highways Department) specifications, approved drawings, and safety standards.
• Work Progress & Coordination: Liaise with the consultant (RSS), subcontractors, and relevant utilities/government departments to coordinate daily site activities and smooth work progress.
• Method Statements & Submissions: Draft and review Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Inspection and Testing Plans (ITP) for HyD submission and approval.
• Site Inspection & Testing: Coordinate and attend site inspections, witness material sampling, and carry out laboratory testing alongside the Resident Site Staff (RSS).
• Traffic Management (TTA): Assist in implementing Temporary Traffic Assessment / Temporary Traffic Management (TTA) schemes in compliance with HyD requirements.
• Safety & Environmental Compliance: Monitor site safety and environmental control measures to maintain compliance with statutory regulations and department guidelines

What we're looking for

• Degree or Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Proven experience working as a Site Engineer or similar site-based role within civil or structural engineering projects
• Solid understanding of construction methodologies, building codes and safety regulations
• Strong knowledge of construction materials testing and quality assurance procedures
• Proficiency in relevant site documentation, surveys and as-built records
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese)
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail
• Valid driving licence or willingness to arrange own transportation to site locations
• Experience using construction management software and Microsoft Office applications
• Professional membership with a relevant engineering body (such as HKIE or RICS) is desirable but not essential
