Site Engineer

About the role

IES Builders and Development Corp. is seeking a qualified Site Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis in Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental. This is a pivotal position that plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution and completion of our construction projects. As Site Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day engineering operations on-site, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project specifications. This role is essential to our operational success and directly impacts project timelines, cost efficiency, and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Supervising and coordinating construction activities on-site to ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and quality standards
• Conducting daily site inspections and documenting progress, including taking photographs and maintaining detailed records of work completion
• Monitoring and controlling project timelines, identifying potential delays and implementing corrective measures to keep projects on schedule
• Ensuring strict compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, including conducting toolbox talks and safety briefings
• Liaising between the project management office, contractors, subcontractors and clients to facilitate effective communication and resolve issues promptly
• Inspecting materials and equipment upon delivery to ensure they meet specifications and quality requirements
• Maintaining accurate documentation including daily reports, as-built drawings, variation orders and site correspondence
• Identifying and reporting defects or non-conformances and ensuring timely rectification by relevant parties
• Assisting in cost control by monitoring material usage and labour productivity to minimise wastage
• Supporting pre-construction meetings, site inductions and handover procedures

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related discipline from a recognised institution
• Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar on-site construction supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles, construction methodologies and building standards
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications and technical documents
• Solid understanding of relevant safety regulations, building codes and environmental compliance requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
• Strong organisational and time management abilities with meticulous attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with construction management software
• Valid professional engineer licensure or eligibility for registration is advantageous
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make decisions under pressure and adapt to changing site conditions
