Site Engineer

Position Summary:

The Site Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and execution of construction activities on-site, ensuring that work is completed according to approved plans, specifications, schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements.

The role directly supervises foremen and skilled workers, including masons, painters, electricians, carpenters, and other trades, while overseeing laborers through their respective foremen. The Site Engineer works closely with the Head of Construction and coordinates with contractors and other project stakeholders when necessary to ensure efficient and timely project completion.

Responsibility:

• Supervise daily construction activities and ensure work is completed according to approved plans, specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
• Directly supervise and provide instructions to foremen and skilled workers, including masons, painters, electricians, carpenters, and other trades.
• Oversee laborers through their respective foremen and ensure proper manpower allocation and productivity on-site.
• Coordinate closely with the Head of Construction regarding project progress, manpower requirements, materials, work priorities, and site concerns.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders as required.
• Review and interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings and ensure their proper implementation on-site.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to ensure workmanship meets project and industry standards.
• Monitor construction schedules, daily accomplishments, and project milestones to keep work on track.
• Estimate and monitor manpower, materials, equipment, and other site requirements to minimize delays and unnecessary costs.
• Coordinate material requests and deliveries to ensure required materials are available according to the construction schedule.
• Monitor the proper use, handling, and storage of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
• Enforce site safety procedures and coordinate with the Safety Officer to maintain a safe working environment.
• Identify construction issues, delays, and discrepancies and recommend practical solutions or corrective actions to the Head of Construction.
• Maintain accurate site documentation, including daily accomplishment reports, manpower records, material usage, and progress updates.
• Provide regular updates to the Head of Construction and promptly escalate issues that may affect project quality, cost, or schedule.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Must have passed the Civil Engineering Licensure Examination; active PRC license preferred.
• 5–10 years of relevant construction experience, preferably in housing, residential construction, and/or land development.
• Proven experience supervising foremen, laborers, and skilled construction workers.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, quality standards, and site procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and engineering plans and specifications.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills, particularly in managing construction personnel.
• Good communication and coordination skills when dealing with management, contractors, suppliers, and workers.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make practical decisions in an active construction environment.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple site activities.
• Willing to work primarily on-site and adapt to project schedules and requirements.
