Site Engineer

Job Scope

1. Supervise and coordinate daily engineering and construction activities at the project site.
2. Ensure site works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements and project requirements.
3. Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, shop drawings and other engineering documents.
4. Monitor project progress and ensure works are completed according to the approved project schedule.
5. Conduct site inspections to monitor workmanship, materials and compliance with technical requirements.
6. Coordinate with Project Managers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors and site teams on technical and construction matters.
7. Identify technical issues and site constraints and coordinate appropriate solutions.
8. Monitor testing, inspection, commissioning and rectification works as required.
9. Prepare site reports, progress updates, inspection records and other relevant engineering documentation.
10. Monitor the use of manpower, materials, equipment and resources at site.
11. Attend site meetings and provide updates on technical matters, progress and site issues.
12. Ensure site activities comply with applicable safety, quality, environmental and statutory requirements.
13. Coordinate material submissions, technical submissions, inspection requests and other project documentation.
14. Assist in resolving construction issues and ensuring outstanding works and defects are properly rectified.
15. Perform other engineering and site-related duties assigned by management.

Job Requirements

1. Diploma / Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.
2. Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in site engineering, construction or engineering projects.
3. Experience in building, infrastructure, engineering or maintenance projects is preferred.
4. Good knowledge of engineering principles, construction methods and site operations.
5. Able to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, shop drawings and project documents.
6. Good understanding of site inspection, testing, quality control and project coordination.
7. Strong technical, analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
8. Able to coordinate effectively with contractors, subcontractors, consultants and project teams.
9. Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD or relevant engineering software is an advantage.
10. Detail-oriented, organised and able to manage multiple site activities and deadlines.
11. Able to work independently and as part of a project team.
12. Willing to work at project sites and travel when required.
