Position: Site Engineer – Deep Foundation Testing

Education: M.Tech / M.E. in Civil Engineering

Experience: 0–1 Year

Job Requirements

The candidate should:

• Have a basic understanding of deep foundation testing, pile foundations, and foundation engineering.
• Be capable of supporting and coordinating onshore deep foundation testing activities.
• Be willing to travel across India and work at offshore locations as required.
• Possess good analytical, technical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Be able to read and understand civil, structural, and geotechnical drawings, as well as soil investigation reports.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn advanced deep foundation testing techniques, engineering analysis, and relevant software.

Deep Foundation Testing – Basic Knowledge

The candidate should have basic awareness of the following tests and their purpose:

• High Strain Dynamic Load Test (HSDLT / PDA)
• Cross Hole Sonic Logging (CSL)
• Pile Integrity Test (PIT)
• Bidirectional / O-Cell Load Test
• Static Load Test – Compression, Uplift & Lateral
• Thermal Integrity Profiling (TIP)

Software & Engineering Skills

The candidate should have knowledge of, or willingness to learn:

• MS Office / Excel – Documentation, engineering calculations, data analysis, and reporting.
• AutoCAD – Reading and preparing drawings and test setup layouts.
• PLAXIS 2D/3D – Geotechnical modelling and soil–structure interaction analysis.
• STAAD.Pro or other FEA software – Basic structural analysis and design checks.
• Engineering Analysis – Load–displacement analysis, pile capacity, settlement, load transfer, and interpretation of test data.

Roles & Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting and executing project activities, including:

• Execute deep foundation testing activities in accordance with applicable codes, project specifications, approved procedures, and company requirements.
• Assist in the mobilization, installation, operation, and demobilization of testing equipment and instrumentation.
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and site activities to ensure smooth project execution.
• Collect, verify, process, and assist in the interpretation of field test data.
• Assist senior engineers in engineering analysis, calculations, and preparation of technical reports.
• Prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPRs), test reports, calculations, method statements, and other project documentation.
• Maintain equipment, inventory, calibration, and testing records.
• Coordinate professionally with clients, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, NABL, HSE, quality management systems, and company procedures.
• Travel to project locations across India and offshore sites as required.
• Support continuous improvement and maintain proper documentation of project lessons learned and technical activities.

Preferred Skills

• Good understanding of geotechnical and foundation engineering principles.
• Basic knowledge of pile capacity, settlement, load transfer mechanisms, and pile behaviour.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently at project sites.
• Willingness to learn and develop skills in advanced deep foundation testing, data analysis, and engineering software.
• Flexibility to work in onshore and offshore project environments.

Additional Requirements

• The candidate shall comply with all company policies, HSE requirements, applicable technical standards, quality procedures, and government regulations.
• The role involves frequent travel and site-based work, including offshore assignments when required.
• Specific employment, travel, offshore mobilization, and other project-related conditions will be discussed during the interview and onboarding process.
