CPB Contractors in joint venture with UGL and supported by EIC, fellow CIMIC Group companies, is proud to be driving the ground-up development of a multi-megawatt data centre in Truganina in the western suburbs of Melbourne. As the trusted delivery partners for a global digital infrastructure platform, we will be frontiering mission critical facilities and infrastructure. Our expertise will seamlessly integrate complex systems across mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire, power and telecommunications among much more.

Being an integrated member of the ACS company group, we will leverage and empower this build by drawing on the shared knowledge and aligned systems across an international network to bring global best practice to our region.

The 80 MW data centre will consist of two adjoining 40MW buildings featuring complex internally integrated electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, fire protection, ICT and security​ systems. Construction will also involve extensive external inground services works, modular electrical equipment including HV / Fire protection facilities construction and civil finishing works​.

Your Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join our growing project team and play a key role in delivering major infrastructure, construction, or civil projects. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will work closely with construction teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure works are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily site activities and construction works.
• Monitor project progress against programme and milestones.
• Manage subcontractors and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Conduct site inspections and quality assurance activities.
• Prepare RFIs, site reports, progress updates, and as-built documentation.
• Ensure all works comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Support project planning, procurement, and cost control activities.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.

About You

• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Site Engineer on construction, infrastructure, or civil projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and engineering principles.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and site teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• Proficient in project management and reporting software.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
