Site Engineer - Railway/ Metro projects

Job Summary

To supervise and coordinate day-to-day railway project site execution, ensuring that works are carried out safely, correctly, and as per approved drawings, specifications, method statements, project schedules and railway/client requirements. The role is strongly focused on railway construction execution, site coordination and labour supervision.

Experience

Experience: 3 to 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Railway Site Execution: Execute and monitor railway project activities at site in line with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and work programmes.
• Railway-Specific Site Coordination: Coordinate work fronts considering railway operational, access, safety and project-specific restrictions.
• Labour & Workforce Supervision: Supervise daily deployment of skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled labour at the assigned work fronts.
• Planning & Progress Monitoring: Prepare daily work plans and coordinate resources required for planned activities.
• Quality Control & Documentation: Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, ITPs and method statements.
• Safety Responsibilities: Ensure safe execution of all assigned railway project activities and compliance with project HSE requirements.
• Coordination & Reporting: Coordinate with Project Manager, Construction Manager, Site Supervisors, Survey, QA/QC, Safety, Stores, Planning and subcontractor teams.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong practical knowledge of railway project site execution and construction methodology.
• Hands-on experience in railway/infrastructure project environments is mandatory.
• Good understanding of drawings, levels, alignment, quantities and site measurements.
• Strong labour handling and site supervision capability.
• Ability to manage multiple work fronts and meet daily/weekly targets.
• Good coordination, communication, problem-solving and reporting skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD and basic construction/project documentation is preferred.
• Ability and willingness to work at a project site in Gujarat and in site-based conditions.
