Site Engineer Support Intern (Immediate Starter)

About the role

We are looking for a Site Operation Support (Intern/Part Time) to provide continuous daily on-site presence at our pilot plant, so that the system runs without interruption, consumables never run dry, and any abnormality is detected early and reported to the responsible engineer. This is a good fit if you want hands-on exposure to a live membrane process plant.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the system in auto and manual mode via the HMI, strictly in accordance with the standard operating procedures.
• Monitor system status, key process parameters and alarms at each visit.
• Ensure buffer tanks and all relevant dosing tanks are sufficiently stocked for continuous operation between visits.
• Carry out required chemical dosing and process adjustments, including pH adjustment, per the standard operating procedures.
• Record dosing quantities and pH readings before and after adjustment.
• Perform a walk-round check each visit of pumps, valves, tanks, piping, instrumentation and associated equipment.
• Identify and record any abnormality, leakage, unusual noise or vibration, or active alarm.
• Collect process samples as scheduled or as requested; label and store them correctly.
• Complete the duty log for every visit: time, readings, tank levels, dosing performed, observations, samples taken and items reported.
• Immediately report any abnormality, fault or alarm to the responsible engineer or person-in-charge, following the escalation procedure.

About you

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in any field of study (Engineering & Science).

• Students/Fresh graduates are welcome, including those awaiting university placement or enlistment.

• Able to follow written standard operating procedures precisely, without improvising.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the judgement to escalate rather than improvise when something falls outside the procedure.

• Good technical documentation and communication skills — able to record and log accurately and legibly, every visit, without prompting, and to hand over clearly to the next duty person.

• Comfortable handling process chemicals under supervision and with the required personal protective equipment.

• Basic computer literacy for recording operational data and preparing reports.

• Willing to work on site and to travel for project assignments.

• Able to travel independently to Tuas Link and arrive reliably at agreed times.
