Site Engineers

About the role

We are seeking experienced Site Engineers to join Vicente T. Lao Construction in Laguna Calabarzon. As a Site Engineer, you will play a critical role in the successful execution and management of our construction projects. This is a full-time position that combines technical expertise with on-site leadership, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. You will be the bridge between the design team and the construction crew, overseeing daily operations and maintaining compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily construction activities and coordinate with site teams to ensure work progresses according to project schedules and specifications
• Monitor construction quality and ensure all work complies with engineering standards, building codes and company procedures
• Prepare and maintain accurate site records, progress reports and documentation for project stakeholders
• Conduct regular site inspections and identify potential safety hazards, implementing corrective measures immediately
• Manage material deliveries, inventory and equipment on site to minimise delays and wastage
• Liaise with Project engineers and clients to communicate project updates and address any concerns or changes
• Review technical drawings and specifications, translating them into practical construction methodologies
• Supervise subcontractors and ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards
• Maintain site safety protocols and ensure all team members comply with health and safety regulations
• Track project budgets and costs, reporting variances and recommending cost optimisation measures

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent professional qualification
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Site Engineer or similar construction management role
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, equipment and safety standards
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and specifications
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams
• Competency in using construction management software and Microsoft Office applications
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel between project sites as required
• Knowledge of relevant Philippine building codes and safety regulations
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is highly desirable
• Experience with commercial or industrial construction projects is preferred
