What they need
About the role
We are looking for a driven, experienced Site Foreman / Senior Landscaper to take charge of day-to-day site operations on high-end residential and commercial projects. Working directly alongside our Project Manager and company leadership, you will run the site while focusing heavily on the hardscape and structural side of our builds. This role is strictly focused on hardscapes—our separate softscape team takes care of planting and turf, meaning your energy goes entirely into structural execution, managing our machinery operators, and driving construction efficiency. We run a modern, organized operation utilizing job management software to keep sites tracking smoothly.
Key responsibilities
- Run day-to-day site activities, ensuring projects run efficiently, safely, and to program utilizing job management software
- Lead complex construction tasks including timber and concrete retaining walls, advanced paving, stonework, decking & fencing, and concrete works
- Coordinate and manage on-site machinery operators and crew members, keeping workflow seamless
- Actively teach, guide, and train staff across a diverse range of hardscape methods, building up the technical capability of the team
- Ensure all site works strictly adhere to engineering specifications, design drawings, and quality control
- Work closely with our dedicated machine operators to ensure all civils are completed correctly.
About you
- Extensive background in landscape construction (heavy hardscapes) or commercial/residential carpentry and building, with strong practical knowledge of retaining, formwork, and civil details
- Solid working knowledge of concrete placement and blockwork
- Familiarity with earthworks to assist and manage operators
- Proven ability to lead by example, communicate clearly, and mentor junior team members
- Minimum 4+ years of industry experience, ideally with previous supervisory or foreman exposure
- Clean, valid driver's licence (Class 2 or HT is an advantage)
- NZ citizens/residents or hold a valid NZ work visa
About us
Jones Land Management is a hardworking, close-knit team environment where expertise and leadership are truly valued. We operate across the Queenstown lakes region delivering high-end residential and commercial projects.
Benefits
- Career progression pathway to grow into a Project Management or General Management role as the company continues to expand
- Company vehicle/ute and company uniform provided
- Work on exciting projects across Queenstown and the greater Central Otago region.
