Site Inspector / Site Supervisor

About the role

Developer-side role focused on site inspections and construction quality. Conduct site inspections on behalf of the developer to check compliance with approved drawings, method statements and technical requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections on behalf of the developer to check compliance with approved drawings, method statements and technical requirements.
• Inspect the quality of structural works, masonry, plastering, waterproofing, doors and windows, finishes and other assigned works.
• Monitor construction progress, manpower and machinery deployment; promptly report delays, work clashes and site issues.
• Record defects, deviations and non-conformances; follow up on corrective actions and verify completed rectification works.
• Participate in work-stage inspections, concealed works inspections and mock-up reviews; assist with site coordination meetings.
• Maintain daily site reports, photographs, inspection records and issue lists, and report regularly to the engineer.
• Monitor site safety, housekeeping and protection of completed works; promptly report serious hazards and follow up on action taken.
• Assist with design changes, site instructions, contractor rectification works and completion defect lists.

About you

• Certificate, Diploma or higher qualification, preferably in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of construction site supervision or management experience; experience in apartments, hotels, residential or high-rise projects is preferred.
• Familiar with construction sequences, quality inspection requirements, construction drawings and site issue resolution.
• Able to independently carry out site inspections, maintain photographic records, prepare issue lists and follow up on rectification.
• Responsible, proactive and firm in maintaining quality standards.
• Able to communicate in Mandarin for project coordination; English communication skills for liaising with local site personnel are an advantage.
• Knowledge of Malaysian construction site requirements and local project experience is preferred.
• Able to work on site in Genting Permai and follow project management arrangements.
