Site Maintenance

Battles started in 1832 and is an award-winning manufacturer and leading provider of all the major animal health, equestrian and pet care brands worldwide. 192 years later, we are still going from strength-to-strength and are continuing to carve our name as the first-choice equestrian wholesaler.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable site maintenance person to join the team. This is a full-time permanent position within a family run business.

The role is predominantly based at our site in Lincoln, with some travelling to our sister site in Preston when needed, working 42.5 hours a week Monday – Friday and occasional weekend work when required.

Responsibilities and Duties

The role will include the following:

• Ensuring standards of safety, cleanliness and tidiness are maintained and monitored throughout the site
• Responding promptly to maintenance requests and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Undertaking general painting and decoration
• Maintain the exterior of the buildings, including pathways, car parks, and landscaping
• Assisting with Trade Show – Loading/unloading of vans, erecting/dismantling marquees, driving vans to and from shows and helping with set up/breakdown
• Travelling to our sister site in Preston when needed to for site maintenance

Qualifications and Skills

• Full, clean driving licence is essential
• Practical skills for repairing and maintaining/repairing equipment/machines
• Safe manual handling and the use of Power tools.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and willingness to adhere to them.
• An understanding of working at Height.
• Ability to cope with the physical demands of the job e.g. lifting and carrying.
• Good timekeeping.
• Ability to carry out general maintenance tasks, and have good DIY skills
• Confident working to tight deadlines.
• FLT Licences preferred but not essential
