Site Manager

Key purpose

• Responsible for ensuring efficient and well-maintained operation of the school's physical infrastructure.

• Oversee all aspects of facilities management, maintenance, and sustainability initiatives within the school premise.

• To ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements and to lead the school’s Health and Safety committee.

Specific responsibilities and expectations of this role

Facilities Management:

• With the Principal, develop and execute a comprehensive facilities management plan tailored to the specific needs of the school.
• Coordinate the use of facilities for academic and extracurricular activities, including scheduling and space allocation.
• Collaborate with school administration and teachers to ensure facilities support students learning.

Maintenance & Repairs:

• Implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure all facilities and equipment are in excellent working condition.
• Supervise maintenance staff and contractors to carry out repairs, renovations, and upgrades.
• Ensure that maintenance requests are responded to promptly and efficiently.

Health + Safety Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with regulations related to health and safety of school facilities, including boarding.
• Maintain records of safety inspections and actions taken.
• Liaise with the appropriate authorities

Vendor and Contractor Management:

• Select and oversee contractors for facility projects, ensuring work meets quality, cost and timeline expectations.
• Negotiate contracts, manage vendor relationships, and review service agreements.

Space Planning and Renovation:

• Collaborate with school leadership on space planning, renovations, and construction projects.
• Manage construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.

Team management:

• Lead and mentor a team of maintenance supervisors and technicians, cleaners, as well as gardeners.
• Provide training and coaching to enhance the team's skills and knowledge.
