KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Site Operations Management

• Supervise daily activities and ensure smooth site operations.
• Coordinate work schedules, tasks, and project activities.
• Ensure that all work is carried out according to company standards and project specifications.

2. Staff Supervision

• Assign duties to site workers and supervise their performance.
• Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, and productivity.
• Ensure workers follow company policies and operational procedures.

3. Health and Safety

• Enforce workplace health and safety regulations.
• Ensure workers use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Identify potential hazards and take corrective action to prevent accidents.

4. Materials and Equipment Management

• Monitor the use of materials, tools, and equipment.
• Ensure resources are available when needed and are used responsibly.
• Report damaged equipment, shortages, or maintenance requirements.

5. Project Monitoring and Reporting

• Monitor work progress to ensure deadlines are met.
• Prepare daily or weekly site activity reports for management.
• Report challenges, delays, incidents, and operational issues promptly.

6. Quality Control

• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets required standards.
• Identify errors or defects and arrange for corrective action.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications and company requirements.

7. Cost and Resource Control

• Monitor site expenses and minimise unnecessary costs.
• Prevent waste, misuse, and loss of company materials.
• Report additional resource requirements and unexpected expenses to management.

8. Communication and Coordination

• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, clients, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Communicate instructions clearly to site personnel.
• Escalate major issues to management and recommend practical solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• A degree or HND in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field may be required, depending on the industry.
• Relevant experience in site supervision, operations, or project management.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation.
