Site Project Engineer

About the role

The Site Project Engineer is responsible for leading the execution of electrical infrastructure projects at hyperscale data center sites in Johor, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with customer and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day site activities for electrical infrastructure works in data center projects
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor project execution to ensure milestones are achieved according to the project schedule
• Supervise subcontractors, vendors, and site teams to ensure work is carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and safety requirements
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and resources for efficient site execution
• Identify project risks, site constraints, and propose mitigation plans to minimize delays
• Coordinate installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems
• Review shop drawings, method statements, inspection & test plans (ITP), and technical submissions before site implementation
• Liaise closely with engineering, tendering, procurement, and factory teams to resolve technical issues during project execution
• Attend project daily meetings, technical discussions, coordination meetings, and weekly progress meetings with customers, consultants, main contractors, commissioning teams, and authorities
• Act as the primary site representative to ensure smooth communication between ASPL, customers, ABB, and project stakeholders

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or equivalent
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in electrical project execution, with experience in Data Center, Industrial, Semiconductor, or Utility projects preferred
• Proven experience managing site execution for MV/LV electrical systems and testing & commissioning activities
• Ability to read electrical single-line diagrams, schematic drawings, protection drawings, and construction drawings
• Good knowledge of project documentation, QA/QC processes, and site safety practices
• Strong leadership, coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Willing to be based in Johor and travel between project sites when required
• Possess own transport and valid driving license
