Site Quality Manager

This role focuses on leading quality management for a mission-critical construction project, ensuring mechanical construction, materials, welding, and piping work meet project specifications and applicable codes.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee project-wide QA/QC activities and ensure compliance with construction specifications and quality standards.
• Manage direct-hire and third-party quality inspectors.
• Inspect construction activities, materials, and equipment; maintain punch lists, observation logs, and inspection records.
• Ensure compliance with applicable ASME, AWS, IPC, AWWA, and UPC codes for welding and mechanical construction.
• Track nonconformances, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions aligned with ISO 9001.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, field supervisors, clients, and subcontractors.
• Support quality planning, project scheduling, budgets, risk management, and change orders.

Required qualifications

• 15+ years of construction industry experience, preferably with a general building contractor.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical construction, including process piping, hydronic piping, fuel oil, plumbing, high-purity piping, and medical gas systems.
• Welding experience, including code-stamp certification.
• Experience in mission-critical construction or data centers is preferred.
• Proficiency with QA/QC software such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, Cx Alloy, or ProjectSight.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Ability to work on active construction sites, travel to off-site locations, work at heights, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred certifications

• AWS QC1 Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
• ASME PCC-1 bolting certification
• Commissioning experience with HVAC equipment, including chillers, pumps, condensers, and related systems.
