What they need
Why This Role Exists
Numbers on a drawing and numbers on the ground don't always match. This role exists to physically verify what's actually been built and installed on site, so every payment, variation, and cost report is backed by real, measured facts — not assumptions from the office.
What You'll Be Doing
On-Site Measurement
- Physically measure completed works on site — concrete, steel, finishes, MEP installations — against approved drawings and BOQ
- Verify quantities of materials delivered and installed against subcontractor claims
- Conduct joint measurements with subcontractors and consultants to agree on quantities before payment
- Maintain a running record of measured works, updated as construction progresses
Site-Level Cost Tracking
- Track actual site progress against budgeted quantities and flag discrepancies early
- Verify variation order quantities directly on site before they're submitted for approval
- Monitor material wastage and report significant deviations from planned usage
- Support site management in identifying cost overruns as they happen, not after the fact
Subcontractor Coordination
- Review subcontractor progress claims against actual site measurement before forwarding for payment approval
- Attend site walks with subcontractors to jointly verify completed quantities
- Resolve on-site measurement disputes with subcontractors before they escalate to formal claims
- Coordinate with site engineers to confirm work is measurable and properly documented before it's covered up (e.g., underground works, embedded items)
Documentation
- Maintain photographic and measurement records to support interim payment certificates
- Prepare site measurement sheets and dayworks records for variations
- Feed verified site data to the head office QS team for cost reporting and valuations
- Keep an updated record of as-built quantities for final account preparation
What You Need
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 3–6 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a genuine site-based (not office-only) track record
- Comfortable spending most of your time physically on site, not behind a desk
- Ability to read drawings and BOQs and translate them into physical, on-site verification
- Strong attention to detail — this role exists specifically to catch discrepancies others miss
A Plus
- Experience measuring structural steel, PEB, or facade works specifically
- Familiarity with dayworks and variation documentation processes
- Prior site-based QS experience in Saudi Arabia
