Site Reliability & DevOps Engineer

PIPELINE is a cybersecurity company headquartered in Tokyo, with an engineering team in Dhaka. We operate security products and services for continuous security assessment and improvement.

We are looking for a hands-on Site reliability and DevOps Engineer to own infrastructure operations, improve reliability and help our developers deliver safely and efficiently.

You will work closely with our CTO, developers and DevOps team, supporting infrastructure across our environments.

What you will do

• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot Linux servers, AWS, Azure infrastructure.
• Establish regular patching, upgrades and vulnerability remediation, with appropriate testing and rollback procedures.
• Maintain monitoring, logging and actionable alerts for critical services.
• Investigate incidents, restore service and address recurring causes.
• Maintain backups, conduct restore tests and document recovery procedures.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration and routine maintenance.
• Support developers with development, staging and production environments.
• Manage infrastructure access, secrets, certificates and network configurations.
• Monitor capacity and cloud costs, recommending practical improvements.
• Maintain clear infrastructure documentation, inventories and runbooks.
• Guide our devops through task planning, technical review and knowledge sharing.

What we are looking for

• Typically 5+ years of relevant infrastructure, DevOps or reliability engineering experience. Demonstrated capability matters more than the exact number of years.
• Direct responsibility for operating production systems.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Hands-on AWS experience covering compute, IAM, networking, storage and monitoring.
• Solid understanding of DNS, TLS, firewalls, load balancing and server security.
• Experience managing production patching and software upgrades.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Jenkins.
• Infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible or equivalent tools.
• Bash or Python scripting skills.
• Practical backup, restoration and incident-response experience.
• Clear written and spoken English.
• Ability to prioritize work, communicate risks early and follow commitments through to completion.

Useful additional experience

• Docker and container operations.
• SaaS or cybersecurity product infrastructure.
• Database operations, monitoring and recovery.
• Log ingestion, data pipelines or threat intelligence infrastructure.
• Mentoring junior engineers.
• Kubernetes, where relevant; it is not a requirement for this role.

What success looks like

During your first 60 days, you will work with the CTO to:

• Establish an accurate infrastructure inventory and prioritized improvement plan.
• Put a practical maintenance and patching schedule into operation.
• Confirm monitoring coverage and alert ownership for critical services.
• Demonstrate recovery of an agreed critical service through a restore test.
• Improve deployment and rollback procedures for a priority application.
• Establish clear responsibilities and working procedures with our junior engineer.

How we work

This is a hands-on engineering position with ownership of ongoing operations and infrastructure improvements. You will collaborate with colleagues in Bangladesh and Japan.
