Mission Overview

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support a major infrastructure program within the energy sector in Belgium.

The role focuses on ensuring the reliability, scalability, monitoring, and performance of on-premises services within a modern engineering organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve system observability, automate infrastructure processes, and ensure high availability across critical platforms.

Responsibilities

Monitoring & Observability

• Design and maintain monitoring infrastructure

• Build custom dashboards, alerts, and visualization tools

• Implement distributed tracing and log aggregation systems

• Establish monitoring best practices including SLI/SLO frameworks

• Ensure comprehensive observability across systems

Infrastructure & Automation

• Automate deployment and configuration management

• Manage and maintain on-premises monitoring infrastructure

• Collaborate with development teams to implement application instrumentation

• Support infrastructure reliability and scalability initiatives

Operations

• Participate in on-call rotations (24/7 incident support)

• Improve operational processes to reduce incidents and downtime

• Contribute to improving system performance and efficiency

Security & Compliance

• Maintain security compliance for monitoring tools

• Ensure monitoring practices align with enterprise security requirements

• Reduced MTTD (Mean Time To Detect) and MTTR (Mean Time To Resolve)

Core Technologies

• Grafana (advanced level)

• Prometheus / PromQL

• OpenTelemetry

Experience

• Minimum 3+ years experience in monitoring / observability

• 2+ years working with Grafana and Prometheus in production

• Strong Linux system administration experience

• Proven experience with on-premises infrastructure environments
