Site Reliability Engineering Technical Leader

For our client, we are seeking a Site Reliability Engineering Technical Leader to join the team of a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space.

This role will provide technical leadership across site reliability, cloud operations, and systems engineering in a high-availability environment. You will help shape operational standards, drive automation and infrastructure decisions, and partner closely with engineering and leadership to strengthen uptime and resilience. The position is focused on leading critical incident response, improving recovery practices, and raising the technical bar across the team.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $192,400 – $275,800 annually

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior technical expert, defining technical judgment and operational excellence
• Own the response strategy for P1/P2 critical incidents and ensure customer uptime
• Oversee complex customer stacks and influence automation and infrastructure decisions
• Inspire operational process improvements through valuable insights
• Elevate technical standards for team members through mentorship and framework development

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 12 years of related experience, or Master's degree plus 8 years, or PhD plus 5 years
• 7+ years in SRE, cloud operations, and systems engineering, including Linux administration
• 6+ years of hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
• 5+ years of experience in a scripting or automation language such as Python or Go
• 5+ years of experience in cross-functional communication with engineering and leadership
• 4+ years leading post-mortems and root cause analysis for high-severity events
