SITE SAFETY SUPERVISOR

About the role

ETD Makmur (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Site Safety Supervisor to join our construction team based in Sungai Siput, Perak. This is a contract position that plays a critical role in ensuring the health, safety and environmental standards across all our construction sites. As Site Safety Supervisor, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining comprehensive safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a strong safety culture amongst all site personnel. This position is essential to our commitment to delivering projects with zero incidents whilst maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation and industry best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections and toolbox talks to identify and mitigate safety hazards and risks
• Develop, implement and monitor site-specific safety plans and procedures in accordance with Malaysian construction regulations and industry standards
• Investigate accidents, near-misses and unsafe practices, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions
• Maintain comprehensive safety records, permits and documentation, ensuring all statutory requirements are met
• Provide safety training and induction programmes to all site workers, contractors and visitors
• Liaise with project management, contractors and regulatory authorities regarding safety compliance and enforcement
• Monitor Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage and ensure all workers are appropriately equipped and trained
• Conduct risk assessments and method statements for high-risk activities and work at height operations
• Monitor site conditions and environmental impacts, implementing appropriate control measures
• Prepare and deliver safety reports and metrics to senior management on a regular basis

What we're looking for

• Professional qualification such as DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety and Health) Certificate or equivalent construction safety certification
• Minimum 1-2 years' experience as a Site Safety Supervisor or equivalent safety role within the construction industry
• Comprehensive knowledge of Malaysian construction safety regulations, standards and best practices
• Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and hazard identification processes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage workers at all levels
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Meticulous attention to detail with strong documentation and record-keeping abilities
• Relevant certifications such as First Aid, Fire Safety or competency in specific construction activities (desirable)
• Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and verbal
• Physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• 1 year contract
