Site Safety Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Safety Supervisor to join TOPCRETE CONSTRUCTION SDN.BHD in Senai, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental compliance across our construction operations. As Site Safety Supervisor, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining safety standards, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a strong safety culture amongst all site personnel. This role is essential to protecting our workforce and ensuring all projects meet regulatory requirements and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily safety inspections and audits across all construction sites to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
• Develop, implement and monitor site-specific safety plans and procedures in alignment with legal requirements and company policies
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks and training sessions to all site personnel on relevant health, safety and environmental topics
• Manage personal protective equipment (PPE) inventory and ensure all workers are properly equipped and trained in its use
• Maintain comprehensive safety documentation, records and reports, including incident reports, safety statistics and compliance audits
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, clients and contractors regarding safety matters and compliance issues
• Promote a proactive safety culture through awareness campaigns, reward schemes and regular communication with site teams
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with safety requirements on site
• Assist in the development and review of method statements and risk assessments for high-risk activities

What we're looking for

• A recognised qualification in Health and Safety (such as NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent Malaysian qualification)
• Minimum 1 year' experience as a Safety Supervisor or similar role within the construction industry
• In-depth knowledge of Malaysian construction safety regulations, OSHA Act 1994 and industry best practices
• Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and incident investigation procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with workers at all levels
• Proven ability to lead safety initiatives and influence positive behavioural change amongst site teams
• Proficiency in safety documentation, record-keeping and data analysis
• Physical ability to conduct regular site inspections and work in a dynamic construction environment
• Computer literacy and familiarity with safety management software (preferred)
• Current First Aid certification or willingness to obtain one
