Site Safety Supervisor

About the role

Boon Boon Builder Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated and proactive Site Safety Supervisor to join our construction team in Kuala Ketil, Kedah. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance across all our construction sites. As Site Safety Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring that all work activities adhere to safety regulations, company policies and best practices. This role is essential to protecting our workforce, minimising incidents and creating a strong safety culture throughout our operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conducting daily site inspections to identify hazards, unsafe conditions and non-compliance with safety standards
• Developing, implementing and maintaining site-specific safety plans and procedures tailored to project requirements
• Providing safety induction and training to all site personnel, including contractors and subcontractors
• Investigating accidents, incidents and near-misses, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions
• Monitoring compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental regulations and legislative requirements
• Liaising with project managers, site supervisors and external safety auditors to ensure continuous safety improvement
• Maintaining accurate safety records, documentation and reports including incident logs and safety statistics
• Conducting safety toolbox talks and awareness sessions to promote a positive safety culture
• Inspecting personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring proper usage by all site personnel
• Managing emergency response procedures and coordinating evacuation drills
• Identifying training needs and recommending safety improvements to senior management

What we're looking for

• A recognised health and safety qualification or certification (such as NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent Malaysian HSE qualification)
• Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in health and safety roles within the construction industry
• In-depth knowledge of Malaysian construction safety regulations, standards and best practices
• Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment and control measures
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with workers at all levels
• Proven ability to investigate incidents and conduct root cause analysis
• Proficiency in safety documentation, record-keeping and reporting systems
• Competence in conducting safety audits and inspections
• Physical fitness and ability to work on construction sites in various weather conditions
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Preferred experience with safety management systems and software tools
