SITE SAFETY SUPERVISOR

Education & Professional Qualification:

• Minimum Diploma / Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field.

  • Must possess a valid Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) registration/certification with DOSH/JKKP, where required by the project or applicable          regulations.
  • Relevant safety certifications such as First Aid, CPR, Working at Height, Confined Space, Lifting & Rigging, or other relevant safety training will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of applicable Malaysian occupational safety and health requirements, including OSHA 1994 and relevant DOSH/JKKP requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

• Monitor and enforce all site safety rules, procedures and client requirements.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
• Ensure all workers and subcontractors comply with approved RAMS, HIRARC, JSA and PTW requirements.
• Conduct or coordinate daily toolbox meetings / safety briefings.
• Verify that workers are properly trained, competent and equipped with the required PPE.
• Monitor lifting, rigging, welding, working-at-height and other high-risk activities.
• Ensure scaffolding, ladders, temporary platforms, lifting accessories and safety equipment are properly inspected and safe for use.
• Stop unsafe work immediately where there is an imminent safety risk and report the matter to the Site Manager.
• Coordinate with the client’s safety team and other contractors on site safety matters.
• Maintain proper safety records, inspection reports, permits, toolbox records and training records.
• Assist in incident, near-miss and accident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor corrective and preventive actions until proper closure.
• Ensure emergency arrangements and emergency contact information are available at the worksite.
• Participate in safety meetings, audits and inspections conducted by the client or relevant authorities.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure workers understand their responsibilities before commencing work.
