Site Safety Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Safety Supervisor to join Woo Lai Fat Construction & Trading Sdn.Bhd at our project site in Setia Alam, Selangor. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring the health, safety and environmental standards across our construction operations. As Site Safety Supervisor, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining rigorous safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a strong safety culture amongst all site personnel. This role is essential to protecting our workforce, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining the high standards that define our company's commitment to excellence in construction.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily safety inspections and audits across all construction work areas to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
• Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive site safety plans aligned with Malaysian construction safety standards and best practice guidelines
• Investigate workplace incidents, accidents and near-misses, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Provide safety induction and training to all site personnel, including workers, supervisors and management, ensuring they understand their safety responsibilities
• Monitor the use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment on site
• Conduct risk assessments and method statements for high-risk activities and work procedures
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and maintain all necessary safety documentation, permits and certifications
• Communicate safety performance metrics and provide regular safety reports to site management and stakeholders
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in safety practices and recommend enhancements to existing procedures
• Ensure emergency response procedures are in place and conduct regular safety drills and simulations

What we're looking for

• Professional qualifications in Occupational Safety and Health (OSHM certification or equivalent Malaysian qualification)

• Minimum 3 years' experience working as a Safety Supervisor in construction environments

• In-depth knowledge of Malaysian workplace safety legislation, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 and Construction Industry Master Plan requirements

• Strong understanding of construction hazards, risk management and incident investigation procedures

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with workers at all levels

• Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver safety training programmes

• Proficiency in conducting safety audits, inspections and hazard assessments

• Experience with safety management systems and incident reporting software

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate safety records and documentation

• Physical capability to conduct regular site inspections and walk-throughs

• Valid Yellow Book Holder
