Site Safety Supervisor, HSE

About the role

To provide operational, administrative, and coordination support to the HSE Executive in implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements at the workplace. To assist in ensuring that HSE activities, inspections, training, documentation, corrective actions, and employee engagement initiatives are properly coordinated, recorded, and followed up in accordance with company policies, procedures, legal requirements, and applicable management systems.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the HSE Executive in monitoring compliance with established HSE policies, procedures, rules, and safe work practices within production areas and company premises.
• Conduct routine workplace observations and report unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and potential HSE hazards to the HSE Executive for appropriate action.
• Assist in monitoring the availability, condition, and proper use of PPE, safety equipment, tools, and other safety-related facilities.
• Assist in preparing monthly HSE reports, statistics, presentations, and other HSE-related reports.
• Maintain and update HSE records, registers, forms, checklists, and databases.
• Assist in coordinating HSE Committee meetings, including preparation of meeting materials, attendance records, and supporting documents.
• Take accurate meeting minutes when required and distribute the minutes to relevant committee members.
• Assist the HSE Executive in coordinating HSE engagement activities with employees, contractors, and other relevant parties.
• Assist in monitoring the scheduled waste storage area and its housekeeping condition.
• Promptly report significant HSE risks, incidents, non-compliance, or unsafe conditions to the HSE Executive.

About you

• Minimum Degree / Diploma.
• Prefer a candidate with Safety & Health Officer (Green Book) or Site Safety Supervisor (Yellow Book) competencies.
• Minimum 2 years of working experience is preferred.
• Other relevant HSE competency certification will be an advantage.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Knowledge in health, safety & environment regulations.
• Able to work independently as well as support and coordinate effectively with employees, contractors, supervisors, and management.
