Site Safety Supervisor (Valid Yellow Book)

About the Role

We are a wastewater management consultancy company currently undertaking a project at an Oil & Gas site in Pengerang, Johor.

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) to oversee and support the implementation of workplace safety requirements throughout our project activities.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Site Engineer, Project Manager and site team to ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with applicable site requirements and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor daily site activities and ensure compliance with safety requirements and procedures.
• Conduct daily safety inspections and identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and potential hazards.
• Conduct or coordinate toolbox meetings, safety briefings and site inductions.
• Ensure workers comply with PPE requirements and safe work procedures.
• Monitor Permit-to-Work (PTW) requirements and ensure necessary safety precautions are implemented before work begins.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing safety documentation, risk assessments and relevant site records.
• Monitor high-risk activities and ensure appropriate control measures are implemented.
• Immediately highlight and follow up on safety issues or non-compliance until corrective actions are completed.
• Maintain safety records, inspection reports, toolbox records and other required documentation.
• Assist in incident/near-miss reporting and investigations when required.
• Liaise with the client, project team, contractors and other relevant parties on site safety matters.
• Support emergency response, safety drills and other HSE activities.
• Promote a strong safety culture among all project personnel.

Requirements

• Possess relevant Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) competency/certification recognised for the required site work.
• Previous Oil & Gas / petrochemical project site experience is strongly preferred.
• Familiar with Oil & Gas site safety requirements, PTW systems, toolbox meetings, risk assessments and safe work procedures.
• Able to identify hazards and confidently intervene when unsafe work practices are observed.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Responsible, proactive and able to work independently on site.
• Able to communicate and coordinate effectively with workers, engineers, contractors and client representatives.
• Willing to be based at the project site in Pengerang, Johor.
• Able to commit to a project duration of approximately 1 year or more.
• Candidates who are available to commence work within a short notice period will have an added advantage.

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
